Lors de sa sortie en 1975, « Wish You Were Here » s'est hissé au sommet des charts au Royaume-Uni et aux États-Unis. L'album reflète le point de vue du groupe sur le monde de la musique à l'époque et explore les thèmes de l'absence et de la perte, en particulier dans le classique "Shine On You Crazy Diamond", un hommage au membre fondateur Syd Barrett. Les amateurs de vinyle parmi les fans de Pink Floyd attendaient cela avec impatience. Les légendes du rock sortent progressivement à nouveau tous leurs albums sous forme de LP. Le groupe a sorti ses quatre premiers disques en juin 2016, suivis d'autres albums en août et septembre. Maintenant, la série continue avec « Wish You Were Here ». Les chansons de la réédition ont été remasterisées par James Guthrie, Joel Plante et Bernie.
