This map was prepared by S. A. Mitchell for publication by the Philadelphia firm of Thomas Cowperthwait & Co. as plate no. 6 in the 1854 edition ofMitchell's New General Atlas. The King of the Netherlands was appointed arbiter and settled the dispute with a new border of his own imagining.
